Getting started
Do I need to install anything?+
No. ARIS runs in a current browser: Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox. Sign in and it opens. Your work is saved to your account, so it is there on any computer you log in from.
Does it work on a Mac?+
Yes. Because ARIS runs in the browser, Mac, Windows and Chromebook all work the same way. It also adapts to a phone screen, and ARIS Field is a dedicated phone app for rating plots.
Does it work without internet?+
ARIS Field, the phone app, works fully offline in the field and sends your ratings when you are back in range. The main ARIS app needs a connection, because your data and the statistics live on our servers.
Can I bring in data I already have?+
Yes. Paste or import CSV from Excel or Google Sheets into a trial. A template is provided so the columns line up the first time.
Trial, plans and data
How does the free trial work?+
Create an account and request the trial. We approve each one by hand, usually within one business day, and your 30 days start at approval. No credit card is needed. At the end you choose a plan or stop; your data is kept.
Who owns my data?+
You do. You can export everything at any time. We do not sell it, share it, or use it to train AI models. The details are in the Privacy Policy and Terms.
How do seats work?+
One seat is one person. A seat covers that person's own devices: two browsers and their phone. Teams buy one seat per researcher.
Using ARIS
What crops and trial types is it for?+
Any replicated field or greenhouse trial with treatments and plots: fungicide, insecticide, herbicide, biological, nutrition, variety and rate trials. The sample study is a strawberry Botrytis fungicide trial; the designs and statistics are the same for any crop.
Which experimental designs are supported?+
Randomized complete block, completely randomized, Latin square, split-plot and factorial. ARIS randomizes with a seed you can keep, so the same layout can be reproduced for your records.
Can several people work on one trial?+
Each person needs their own seat and account. Ratings sent from ARIS Field file into the account the phone is paired with. Shared protocols and templates are part of the Professional plan.
Is there a desktop version to install?+
No. ARIS is delivered in the browser so it works the same on Mac and PC and is always current. There is nothing to download or update.
What happens to my data if I stop paying?+
It is kept, and you can still export it. Sign back in later and it is where you left it.
