- 1Add it from inside ARIS
Open Field Sync in ARIS and scan the QR code, or send yourself the link by email or text. It installs on iPhone and Android from the browser, with no app store.
- 2Pair it with your account
Enter the access code shown on the same page. From then on the phone knows which account and trials it belongs to.
- 3Rate plots, signal or not
Walk the trial in plot order. Type values, add subsamples, take photos and notes. Everything is kept on the phone until you are back in range.
- 4Send it in
One tap sends the trial, encrypted, to your account. It files itself into the right trial and is waiting in Assessment Entry when you sit down.

Fully offline
The app and your ratings live on the phone. A field with no coverage is not a problem.
Subsamples with a live mean
Enter three berries or ten leaves per plot and see the plot mean as you go.
Photos and notes per plot
Attach a picture and a note to any plot. They travel with the ratings.
Encrypted on the way
Ratings are encrypted before they leave the phone and only your account can read them.
CSV as a fallback
Export ratings as CSV from the phone and import them into ARIS by hand if you ever need to.
Sign out when you hand it over
A log-out button on the phone, so a shared or borrowed device does not keep your access.
Which phones?
ARIS Field runs on any recent iPhone or Android phone, and on tablets. It installs from your browser as an app icon on the home screen; there is nothing to download from an app store and no account to create on the phone.
The main ARIS app also adapts to a phone screen, so you can check statistics or the plot map from the truck. Rating plots is what Field is for.
